As LinkedIn now attempts to purge LinkedIn of all signs of "networking life", there is going to be a bit of mayhem.
LinkedIn is now banning, blocking, and eliminating the ability for you to direct and control the growth and direction of your own networks.
While LinkedIn's new direction gets sorted out, I would recommend that for those you who find that open networking has value professionally -- you may want to consider joining "The LinkedIn Lions Forum" -- in addition to being part of likeminded open networkers, it may serve as an insurance policy that your network can continue to thrive and grow with or without LinkedIn's draconian policies.
I would also recommend that you invite your "most valued" LinkedIn Connections to become LinkedIn Lions as well.
